We understand that it can be difficult to find the time to come to the studio, so we’ve created a weekly yoga routine that you can do at home. This routine will help you to stay consistent with your practice and stay on track with your goals. Each week, we’ll offer a different routine that will focus on a specific area of the body or type of practice.
To get started, all you need is a yoga mat and some comfortable clothing. Make sure to warm up with a few stretches before you begin your practice. This will help to prevent injuries and ensure that your muscles are properly prepared for the poses.
This week’s routine will focus on hip and low back stretches. This is a great practice for those who have been sitting for long periods of time or for those who have tightness in these areas. Begin by lying on your back and drawing your knees into your chest. Hold for 10-15 seconds and then release.
Next, come into a supported child’s pose, drawing your knees wide and your forehead to the floor. Hold for 10-15 seconds and then release.
Next, come into a seated forward fold, bringing your forehead to your knees. Hold for 10-15 seconds and then release.
Finally, come into a reclined pigeon pose, bringing your right leg over your left leg. Make sure that your right thigh is parallel to the ground and your left leg is straight. Hold for 10-15 seconds and then release.
Repeat this sequence two or three times, or as often as you would like. Make sure to take deep breaths throughout the practice and move slowly and mindfully. If any of the poses become too intense, you can back off and take a break.
At the Thousand Petaled Lotus Yoga Centre, we are committed to helping you reach your goals and providing you with a safe, comfortable, and supportive space to practice. Our weekly yoga routines are designed to help you stay consistent with your practice and make progress towards your goals. We look forward to seeing you in the studio soon!
