Welcome to the Thousand Petaled Lotus Yoga Centre in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We are delighted to have you here and to be able to offer you this beginner’s guide to meditation.
Meditation is an ancient practice that has been used for centuries in many cultures to help reduce stress, improve concentration, and increase inner peace. Modern research has found that meditation can also help to improve physical and emotional wellbeing.
The practice of meditation can be divided into three parts: physical, mental, and emotional.
Physical meditation involves finding a comfortable and relaxed position that is comfortable for your body. This can be done with different postures, such as sitting, standing, or lying down. When you are in the correct posture, you can begin to focus on your breathing. You should take slow, deep breaths and let go of any tension that you may be feeling in your body.
Mental meditation involves using your mind to focus on a single point. This can be an object, a sound, or a mantra. When you focus on this single point, you should allow your thoughts to pass without judgement. This helps you to become more aware of the present moment and to be able to stay calm and focused.
Emotional meditation involves releasing any negative emotions or thoughts that you may be feeling. This is done by allowing yourself to be in the moment and to focus on the positive feelings and emotions that you are feeling. When you do this, you will be able to find inner peace and balance in your life.
When beginning to meditate, it is important to remember that the practice is not about achieving any particular goal. Instead, the aim of meditation is to experience the present moment, to become mindful of your thoughts, and to stay in the present moment.
It is also important to remember that everyone’s experience with meditation is different. There is no right or wrong way to meditate and it is important to find the techniques that work best for you.
